Virtual customer contact center Alpine Access announced yesterday that it's expanding in Minnesota, and seeking 100 home-based agents.
"Ideal candidates are self-starters desiring home-based employment," the company's press release said. "Alpine Access customer care professionals have strong educational backgrounds, a work history that includes previous customer service related responsibilities and good online computer skills."
Like Convergys, Hilton, and NEW Corp., Alpine Access hires agents as employees rather than independent contractors. Among other distinctions, this means that agents may sometimes earn a lower rate per hour, but are often provided health insurance and other benefits, as well as paid training.
