The work-at-home "news page" come-on has been with us for awhile now, but as we continue to receive queries about it, here's a reminder.
The offer typically looks like a real online newspaper page (see an example here), replete with trusted media logos, newspaper-like layout, and so on. But it's not what it appears to be.
Among the many red flags:
-- There is no "Google bailout" of this kind.
-- The tabs at top and bottom (Home, Finance, Technology, etc.) are
unlinked. On authentic pages, they are linked.
-- The root url, http://newsnet6.com, which again is meant to suggest a "real" news site, actually takes you to an online-poker promotion.
There are problems with the testimonials and other features, but bottom line, we would definitely not recommend this "opportunity."
